La Gondola Canning Factory was founded by Italians who brought the first canning industries to Matosinhos, in northern Portugal, in 1940. La gondola still manufacture with ancient and traditional methods. This tuna comes from the belly of the fish, that velvety chunk known in sushi bars as Otoro. It has deep, buttery, complex flavours and a creamy texture.
